BLDSA One Hour Postal Swim 2009

Postby Rob Harvey » Fri Feb 20, 2009 12:48 pm

Hi,

Dave Q is once again organsing for MTC members to enter the British Long Distance Swimming Association One Hour Postal Swim. Full details of the swim can be found here: http://www.postalswim.com/

As the name suggests you have to swim as far as you can in one hour! As simple as that. If you want to see how MTC members have got on in past years then you can view results on the website above.

And like all the best things in life...... it's free! as the club will be paying everyones entry fee. Just turn up on the night ready to swim. Probably best to arrive early to give the coach and volunteers a chance to get organised and start on time, especially on the Thur PM session at Aquatics as it is only 60 min long.

There are 3 dates set aside for members to take part in the swim:
Thur 26th Feb - 6.30-8.00am at Moss Side
Thur 26th Feb - 8.30-9.30pm at Aquatics
Sat 28th Feb - 7.30-8.30am and 8.30-9.30am at Moss Side

We will also need volunteers at each session to help with lap counting so if you don't want to do the swim but can spare a little time to help other members then come along and practise your counting skills. Reply to this thread if you can help counting laps and note the session you can help at.

Thanks

Rob

I also want to do the swim Saturday morning and will count for the other hour.

I'd rather count first and swim after so I am not sitting there wet and covered in chlorine for an hour.

Hi

I'd like to swim Saturday as well but can also count - don't mind which way round.

Hi rob,

if I can drag myself out of bed, should be able to help count Thursday am, with you and Tim, that's a lane each.

I need time to wake up, so I can count the first wave on Saturday morning and swim the second.
